750$
http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:category.details?current-catalog-id=12F0696583E04D86B9B79B0FEC01C087&current-category-id=7794F9514CE80460C7C2782FB02A5EB6&action=init

It will be roughly 820$ after taxes.

2nd generation Intel Core i7-2670QM Processor( 2.2 GHz 1333 MHz 6 MB)
14.0" HD Glare with integrated camera 1366x768
750 GB 5400
AMD Radeon HD 7690 1GB

I will be upgrading to a 7200 rpm hdd in the near future. Can anyone recommend a good cheap 7200 rpm hdd? 320-500 GB with 500 GB preferred.

I just wanted to see what you all think before I purchase it. Thanks!

Y470Ps are great buys for what they have. Personally, give it a month and you'll regret buying it because the Ivy Bridge CPUs and Kepler GPUs are slated to be in the Y480, which will smoke the Y470P at the same price.

The Y480 is said to have the 650M which is new Kepler hardware, and it annihilates the 7690.

I do agree with nbelote that if you can wait ivy bridge is slated to come out April 23rd (dont quote me though) however I don't know too much about Kepler I dont think that the 650m will be in the same price range as laptops with a 7690 but if so then definitely wait. My 2 cents.

It is not going to be in the same price range I doubt. That is why the y470 is so cheap right now they are getting ready to replace it with the y480 which will be atleast 900$ with similar specs. Probably more around 950$

This is the only price I can find so far for 1000$

If I was going to pay 1000$ I would get this

It would smoke anything Lenovo makes.

I would buy what you have there because the laptop you linked that was a grand dis not have a 650m but a 630m. A laptop with the 650m would probably be around $1,200. The 650m would kill the 7690 but you would be paying about $400 more.

I know. I am just happy paying 820$ after tax for a 7690m with a quad i7. A 7690m overclocked can run BF3 on ultra I (Tested it on the HP before I sent it back) and that is the highest benchmark I care to meet. I did not test how many FPS it had but it played without any lag so I have no complaints.
