Hello,
My laptop has completely died on me so I need a new one.. I am a student so I don't have a very big budget.. I'd REEAALLY like to try to keep it under $500 but if it's a bit more it's not the end of the world.. Now I mainly just use it for music, movies and MS office for school BUT I also have SC2 and would kind of like to be able to play that and LoL and maybe D3 when it comes out.. Now I know I'm not getting anything for gaming with that budget but if there is anything out there that could handle this on medium or low settings that would be great.. I could also get a lenovo t500(58u) for about $450 with a family discount.. I don't have all the specs but the basics are:
Intel Duo core T9400 2.53 Ghz
Xp professional edition
memory std/max: 2048Mb/4096Mb
160Gb hard drive
15" display

Not sure if I could get anything better for my money.. Any help is appreciated!!

NCIX also has Acer Aspire AS5552G 15" notebook for $500CAD
AMD Phenom II X2 N660 3.0Ghz CPU, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 15.6" 1366x768 LCD w/Radeon 6470 graphics card.

I think that Radeon 6470 will get you run SC2 on medium settings, although the FPS might be low enough you'd want to game on low settings.
So far, for all the requirements you mention, this might be the best bet.
Hello kflip;

For the same price as that $450 lenovo t500 you can get a Dell Vostro 3550 15" Core i3 Sandy Bridge Laptop
Core i3-2310M 2.10 GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, 250GB 7200rpm HDD, DVD burner 15.6" 1366x768 LCD with Intel HD 3000 graphics.
Includes two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, eSATA, 8-in-1 Card Reader, ExpressCard/34 slot, LED-backlit anti-glare matte LCD, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, HD Webcam, Windows 7 OS.

This will run SC2 on low settings. You'd need a dedicated graphics card to reach medium graphics.
