I'm trying to replace my single channel 8G RAM with dual channel 16GB RAM. I keep getting black screen on start up with new RAM. Old RAM works but is damage. My old RAM was DDR3L and I mistakenly ordered regular DDR3 RAM, is this my problem? Does that matter? Also I have a Acer Aspire E15 E5 573G laptop if that helps answer. Thanks in advance this is very frustrating.

The only answer is sending back ram and getting DDR3L 2x8gb SoDIMM, non ECC, non registered, unbuffered

DDR3L is a dual voltage capable memory SoDIMM, which supports operation at both 1.5V and 1.35V. DDR3L is also pin-compatible with DDR3. DDR3 is a single voltage capable memory SoDIMM, which supports 1.5V operation only.
Laptops manual says ddr3L that runs 1.35v and the cpu used in those require DDR3L memory support

So I should be able to make this work? I've tried both slot with bit chips individually and together and nothing seems to work. I asume this is because my voltage is set to 1.35 but my bios wont let me change that, or at least I can't figure out how to. I'm completely lost on how to get this working.
