I would like to dual boot my Windows 10 laptop due to the fact that the engineer who fixed my laptop when I sent it back for warranty installed a wrong copy of Windows 10 and used a pirated key on it

Solution
To answer your quesiotn: No, dual booting 2 (or more) OSs is not a violation of warranty.

As others have stated though that you should not be dual booting the pirated OS, you should be running the proper OS.
Either take the laptop back to the tech and say that you have a proper license of Win 10 and that he needs to put the proper OS on your laptop (ya know, since what he did is illegal).

Or you will have to get recovery media from the OEM, now this may already be on your computer in a hidden partition (assuming the idiot "tech" did not delete it).

What is the make and model of your laptop?
Did the laptop come with windows 10 pre-installedo on it?

If the laptop is under warranty why did you take it to tech, was it just a...

You really need to correct the pirated Windows 10 issue before you consider dual booting. Running that illegal copy of Windows 10 can cause all kinds of problems and if you own a genuine copy of Windows 10 then that is what you should have.

Did you have Windows 10 on that computer before you took it to the shop? Was your laptop fully activated with Microsoft before you took it to the shop? If yes to both of these questions then the tech could not put a different version of Windows 10 on that laptop because the original version is tied to the motherboard. Did the shop replace the motherboard?

your warranty may already be voided because you have a pirated copy of windows on it. if this work was done by the actual manufacturer of your laptop then i would contact them about it or contact them to see if they can supply you with a recovery disk to get the laptop back to factory defaults

The problem starts before your change. You have a warranty. The "engineer" installed a pirated copy. THAT can void your warranty. You need to contact the manufacturer directly and discuss your issue with them.

I find this so very odd. You had a laptop fixed under warranty which suggests you used an authorized vendor or sent this laptop under an approved RMA. The authorized rep. or manufacturer is using pirated software? Why would they need to use pirated software? Something smells like a rotten fish here.

Yes it was an OEM copy of Windows 10 Pro which still needs verification of the key from the Microsoft servers... I don't know if they replaced my motherboard because they only repaired the touchpad which was defective... I knew the OS was somehow changed because when I used my OEM key which I was able to extract from my system using an application, it did not work saying that the key I am trying to put is a different version.

I would like to dual boot my laptop because
1. I want to keep the warranty (If it doesn't void any warranties) and also keep the OS which the engineer installed so I can file a complaint during summer.
2. I want to reinstall another (legit) copy of windows 10

It should say that the installed key should be the same with the OEM key and I know the installed key is pirated... I saw it on a keygen somewhere... and my other desktop system (which we bought from a local shop 2 years ago) is using the same key so it is somewhat suspicious

waiting till the summer will be too late to make a complaint you need to make it ASAP especially if this is some shady local computer place

they are a well known local shop here so I am confident...
They are not the one who fixed it.... they sent it to Manila which is in Luzon here in the Philippines to another shop there...

That is not how Windows 10 keys work. ALL Windows 10 keys are generic, every single one of them. You need to activate your copy of Windows 10 if you have not done so yet then you can consider dual booting.
