if your mobo has a usb 3.0 port on it( not external) then you need either to get a 5.25 drive that extends usb 3.0 ports or a new case that has usb 3.0 ports... if your mobo is usb 3.0 compliant it should have at least 2 usb 3.0 on the rear i/o panel(they are blue) however you cannot turn a usb 2.0 external port into a usb 3.0 port
usb 3.0 you need to change some hardware and it also depends on your mobo, to achieve true usb 3.o your mobo needs to usb 3.0 compliant with the ports on the mobo. there are other ways but all involve adding some hardware
