Can I connect DVD Speakers to PC

Guys i didn't know where to put this one so.. sorry.
Now im asking if I can connect my DVD speakers to my PC. The purpose is ti use the speakers as PC speakers. I know i probably wont do that without installing em in the DVD and somehow connect the DVD to PC so speakers work. Any Ideas would be welcomed!
-My mobo supports 7.1

Is that going to work with as 5.1 or stereo only ? And are you sure it's going to work anyway, having in mind the dvd is probably 10 years old. What is the name of that cable?

5.1 depends on what the DVD player will do.
It will probably simulate 5.1 well enough.

Well.. i got the cable. I plug it in INPUT ? and in the PC speakers output thing.. nothing happens help ???

Well i make them work but now only 2 front ones work no Boofer!

what if you wanted to eliminate the dvd? in my case i dont need it or use it, and i has to be on, and every time configure to tv audio and its hassaleand a pain in the ass
