Hello everybody. Since yesterday I can not open my files. I start my computer, it starts normaly, then i become desktop-notification: you became a victim of the Petya Ransomware. I tried everything, but my files are blocked. according to: http://nabzsoftware.com/types-of-threats/petya-ransomware it can be a virus that came from Spam email. But I delete my spam emails every time. I do not open them. How can I delete this Petya and decrypt my files and fotos? Thanks

Solution
Unfortunately, as with other recent types of ransomware, researchers still haven’t found a way to decrypt information encrypted by Petya.

Ransomwares themselves are generally easy to remove. Get rid of that first.

For your files, as long as volume shadow copy is on, you can try to restore your files to earlier version from before they became encrypted.

Petya Ransomware is a difficult case. You can restore your files with Emsisoft and PC Advisor tools. All steps for restoring you can find on the german page: http://www.virus-entferner.de/2016/04/04/petya-ransomware-virus-entfernen/ . I think you can see how to do it and translate it. Do not try spyhunter and malwarebytes-fake tools proposed on other pages.

Malwarebytes is not a fake tool, it's one of the best ones out there to remove spyware and viruses. Can't say I've ever used Spyhunter but it does not seem to have a good reputation.

Please defend your claim against malwarebytes. It is one of the best tools you can use to remove infections.
