can i put DDR3 RAM from old laptop to my new one?

My old laptop ( Toshiba Satellite L755 ) has 4 GB of DDR3 RAM ( it's 8 chips with 0,5 GB each ) and I wonder if I can now put that RAM in my new laptop and if I do, will it work?

By the looks of things, it should be perfectly compatible. That said, mixing brands of RAM in the same machine doesn't always work.

Nope. The slots are different.

I mean as extra for 8 GB ( 4 GB DDR4 + 4GB DDR3 ) not for replacement. Will it work like that.
