Can I safely run The Sims 3 with my Hp Intel CORE i5?

I have played the Sims 3 on an older DELL desktop in the past WITH extensions but I was wondering if it would run better with the EliteBook HP Core i5? I just really don't want to break my computer as it is very important that this computer stays intact for school purposes.

You can run it safely on intel pentium 4 according to my experience

Yes you can run it safely, it may not run perfectly but it won't harm your computer. (Unless it's illegal software, that may give problems).
