Can I turn my laptop into a screen for my Xbox One using an HDMI cable?

I want to play a game using my laptop and not my tv. How can I do this?

You cannot. The HDMI port on all laptops is output only. The only laptops the I know of where the HDMI port can be used for both input and output are Alienware laptops.

You would have to buy a capture card and even then the lag would make most games unplayable.
