They claim the CPU can not be upgraded at all, whatsoever. The RAM can be upgraded up to 16 GB.

The CPU cannot be upgraded, it is an i5-8250U which uses an FC-BGA1356 socket.

The BGA in the socket name stands for Ball Grid Array and these sockets have the CPU soldered to the mobo. They cannot be removed.
