Hello I have got an HP Elitebook 2530p laptop running windows 10 64-bit .It has got an Intel core 2 duo L9400 Processor @1.86 GHz 1.87 Ghz.I was looking forward to upgarding my processor to i3 or i5.Can I upgrade it?
No, it's because a) mobile CPUs are often soldered on and b) any core i processor will use a different motherboard socket than the one your laptop has for its core 2 duo.
even if CPU was upgradeable, which is not always a case with laptops, jumping to a different generation of CPU wouldn't be possible.
simply put, the physical socket of C2D is different from i3/i5/i7. that not to mention different RAM requirements.
