Solved! Can I upgrade my old laptop?

I have an 11 year old ASUS laptop, K70IJ.
Pentium© Dual-Core CPU T4500 @ 2.30GHz × 2
4gb ram, 500gb disk,
Linux Mint 20,

It's old but it works OK.

I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the cpu. Preferably with a multitasking cpu.

You do have a "multitasking" CPU. I'm not sure what you mean. Multitasking is built into the OS.. I would be surprised if you could do a CPU upgrade that would help much. Even if you could, there are design limitations, mostly related to cooling and power, that would need to be considered. If you are still running a HDD instead of an SSD, I would start there.
