Can I use a hard drive in another laptop

Can I take the hard drive from a Toshiba Satellite L305 S5919 and use it in a Toshiba Satellite P25 S520.

While it works occasionally in Windows 7, with laptops it is far less likely unless you re-format and reinstall the operating system and drivers.
