can i use a stronger battry

hi can i use an 8 cell battary in an 4 cell laptop
it's an Asus X550VC-XX078H

Only if ASUS or someone else makes a 8 cell battery for your model. Some manufacturers like Lenovo does this, ASUS is not known for making more than 1 type of battery for one laptop model. Although you can check to make sure.

I took a look earlier today, and it doesn't seem that ASUS makes any 8 cell batteries for that laptop. Their website specifies only one 4 cell battery (http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/X550VC/#specifications). Usually if a higher capacity battery is available, they'll list that too. These weren't designed to be battery life champions anyway; the X-series from ASUS are budget multimedia machines.
