Can I use a universal ac adapter to charge a n accer laptop? If so what do I set the voltage to?

Solution
Look on the bottom of the original charger, it'll have voltage and amperage outputs. You need to match them or don't try it. If you lost the charger, the info might be on the laptop, on the battery or not there, in which case you'll need to lookup the model on the manufacturer website and get the info that way.
Voltage needs to be exact, but it's ok if the amperage is slightly higher, just as long as it's not really higher than 1.5x the original. Matching is best.
