I have onkyo tx rz720 receiver I. I like to add second subwoofer. But I have a old powered tower speaker. Can I use that for second subwoofer

Huh?

Not sure why adding a second sub would affect your other speakers? U should be able to just add it, ideally the exact same as sub1 to maintain timbre.

You can do that. It might sound worse using two different subwoofers over the same range. I would suggest you try the tower by itself vs both together. Use what you like. Louder doesn't mean better.
