Solved! Can laptop be used as pc monitor?

Is it possible to use a laptop as a pc monitor? My pc monitor died and I need to run some proprams on the pc that are not on the laptop and that I really do not want to install on the laptop either.

Laptop is an Acer aspire and the PC is a Dell.
Laptop has ethernet and vga connections

typically, no, you won't be able to unless your laptop specifically has a video input port (which most laptops don't have)

you might be able to do the following if the computers on a local network:
remote desktop from your laptop to your desktop and use the programs that way
