can you connect a non powered mixer to a poweredmixer?

I was wondering if you can connect a non powered mixer to a powered mixer? If yes how is it done?

Connect the output of the unpowered mixed to one input on the powered mixer. It will act as a sub mixer if you need the additional input channels.
