Doubt that you could use in for surround sound. Bose doesn't have the connections.
I don't think it would be worth doing it for that any way. The DSP1 is very dated for surround sound.
If you wanted to use it as an effects box you could connect an analog stereo source to its input and connect its output to an analog input on the Bose. Set it for stereo output.
