can't connect my laptop to an external screen

i have a toshiba NB100 laptop and the screen is broken so i want to plug it in to an external screen but the external screen works until windows loads then it jumps on the laptop screen and the safe mode does not load please help

There should be a hotkey that will allow you to switch back to the external screen once in windows... I think on your model, it's Fn+F3. On some Toshibas it's Fn+F5.
