Cant connect my tv to my tab or tab to my tv

Hello,what should i do to connect my galaxy tab 2 to my samsung smart tv series 8

some tablets have mini hdmi output on them so if you do you can get a mini hdmi to hdmi and use that cable to connect it to your tv

I have a samsung galaxy note pad 10.1 and i was thinking of connecting it to the tv(samsung 8 series smarty tv)using hot port wi-fi so i can enjoy the smarty hub fetures including internet,allshare and many more.Its connecting alright but thats it,i cannot go further to google on the tv.what must i do?
