Can't connect to the internet

Have a gateway computer with AMD Processor, Windows 8.1, and Belkin wireless. Has worked fine for almost a year, and today will not connect to the internet. Have unplugged router and modem, rebooted the computer, still cannot connect.

I would need more information to help you. Can you press the windows key and the r key, type in cmd, and then type in the command prompt ping 8.8.8.8 and get four responses from the google server? When you get the screen that comes up when trying to access the internet say about:blank in the address bar or does it give you another error message?
