Cant hear game sound through headphones

I am playing arma 2 with new headset but cant hear game sounds through headset for some reason i have tried with older headsets.

If other headsets work then your headphones may have a problem.

Do the headphones work anywhere else?

However, if no headphones are working, then check the playback device settings via the little speaker icon. Probably lower right screen area. Right click it.
