Verizon is a CDMA carrier. Straight is CDMA in some areas and GSM in others (depends on who's network they are running their phones through in that area Sprint or AT&T).

GSM phones will not work on a CDMA network and vice versa. Phones also can't be changed or converted from one to the other.

Due to this, you would need to contact Straight Talk, your current carrier, and ask them if the phone you have with them is GSM or CDMA. If it is the first, then it won't work. If it is the second, then it might work. You would need to contact Verizon to be completely sure.
