Changed battery dell wont

Hello, just put in OEM battery in dell inspiron 5100 but it does not recognise the battery if i put the old battery back it recognises immediately. Any ideas please

When you say "OEM" do you mean one from Dell or from a 3rd party chinese ebay seller or something?

If you got it from Dell, contact their support for your area to get a replacement.

My laptop repair company fixes a LOT of Dell lappys...

The battery that is NOT recognised is NOT A GENUINE DELL BATTERY....

Buy a genuine one and it will be fine...
