I tried the different solution offered on the web but none seems to work.
I partly solved it by shutdown and disconnecting the battery.
Charger green light is on now so I connect the battery back (computer cover left opened).
Now the light change from green to amber and the battery is charged.
The problem is, if I disconnect the charger the light goes off (of course)
but does not get back on if I connect the charger again.
I need to disconnect the battery again.
That means keeping the computer open (at least until I find another solution).
I thought the problem was with the battery so I purchased a new one. Battery is not the problem.

Solution
Sometimes i have situations when i connect my macbook air to charger but battery is not charged and the light is off. I've tried to move horizontal cable end and again it started to charge.
