Cheap Cheap Cheap Laptop

I need a laptop for school and such. I've searched for a while and noticed that the cheapest "laptops" available are chromebooks, which i absolutely will not do, I need something that has atleast 4 hour battery life, 100gb storage, and an optical drive. i will not be playing video games or streaming video/music i can do that on my desktop. Any links would be greatly appreciated, i am not opposed to "building" my own laptop but am not sure where to find parts. Would also prefer new or refurbished over used. OS is not super important, i plan on installing a linux distribution as 90% of my use will be word processing. Thanks for your time.

That Laptop is good, but kinda overkill. 4gb of ram and 320gb HDD are definitely more than i need. My main issue is finding something in between this and a $180 netbook or chromebook but i'm bookmarking the acer in case i can't find anything else

Don't feel pressured to get a small hard drive or RAM amount, just get something new-er in you price range. I would recommend anything newer than a first gen core I processor

A used Fujitsu LifeBook or Lenovo ThinkPad off FleaBay. Don't be afraid to add more RAM.
