Cheap laptop capable of gaming

Hello,

I am looking to upgrade my laptop and have a tight budget of no more than $500. I know I will not be getting a gaming laptop for this price but would like something that has some gaming capabilities. I currently only have a old HP Compaq nx7400 I got for free which cant run a single game I have tried so most anything would be an upgrade. I have seen a few A10 laptops around that price range so I'm thinking going with an APU would be the best bet. So basically what can I get in the $500 price range that would fit my needs best? Also it has to be new but can be older as long as its new.

Really as much as possible hopefully games like far cry 3 or bioshock infinite on low settings if possible in that price range.

The problem is im not the one paying for it it will be a gift from my parents for college and they dont want to spend over $500.

I'm sorry to say this, but at that budgets games like bioshock are simply not going to run well on a laptop. Either go for a desktop or try to find the best a10 laptop you can.

Hmmm so it seems the $500 budget range isn't very promising so lets rephrase the question what is the cheapest/best deal laptop I could get that would be able to play all modern games such as bf4. I was thinking getting a refurbished IdeaPad Y500 with SLI gtx 650m.

if you can afford y500 with gt 650sli (i hope u already know that you have to pay extra for sli gt 650m) go for it
