Hello guys, I decided to buy a used laptop from a person so can you tell me what should I check before buying the laptop? As we know, there are a lot of scammers nowadays so this is just a precaution for me..

i would make sure to go to them to get it from an actual house/flat etc

not them bring it to you or meet in a public place etc

that way any problems at least you have an address to go back to

-Verify the OS is activated and genuine. If original Windows 7 install, ensure the license key is readable on the bottom. If it is an OS that he installed, (7 or 8) ensure you get the license key, COA, and install media
-Open Disk Management, and verify the size and type of drives
-Does it make any odd noises?
-Be safe

And when you get it home, you do a full wipe and reinstall of the OS. Even if he said he did it 5 minutes before you got there. For your protection as well as his.
