Clevo P870DM Keeps Resetting Randomly from Browser Freeze

Hello,

I just got my new Clevo P870DM running Windows 10 PRO.

My specs are as follows:

CPU: 6th Gen Intel® Core ™ i7-6700K (8MB Cache, up to 4.20GHz) 91W
GPU: nVidia GeForce 980 GTX 8GB GDDR5 Desktop 200w
RAM: 32GB RAM DDR4 2133Mhz Kingston HyperX
Display: 17.3" FullHD IPS anti-glare (1920 x 1080) G-Sync
HDD: 256GB Samsung M.2 NVMe SM951 SSD
1TB HGST Travelstar 7K1000
Conectivity: Killer 1535 2 x 2 AC Wi-Fi + BT 4.0


The problem I'm facing is a really strange one. The laptop is working great. I work in After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator at the same time and it doesn't face any problems, except when I open a browser (any browser it seems, as I troubleshoot this with both Google Chrome and Firefox). Randomly, when opening the browser or when accessing a new page, the screen just freezes and the laptop resets after 5-10 seconds, without giving any error or indication as to why it does this. I just can't explain this and I don't really know what to do.

Am hoping you guys can help me out with this.

Test the RAM one stick at a time, if all the RAM sticks do the same thing, try a factory reset to stock Windows setup. If that does not help, contact the laptop vendor for support.

I've ran memtest for 16h 13m and got only 1 error. Please see attached:




Would that 1 error be enough to cause this issue?

I will try testing the RAM as you suggested above once I'm done reinstalling the graphics card.

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by running a memory test with your laptop.
- Here's a software you can use to run the test with the RAM's.
- http/www.memtest86.com/
- If the test will pass proceed with doing a clean install of the graphics card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Nvidia graphics driver.
- Next is to open Programs and Features then uninstall anything related to Nvidia.
- Once done, download and install the latest driver.

- Reboot the laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
- After the reboot, do test it again and see if the same problem will persist or not.
- If all these will not work do also run a complete scan with the system.

In the meantime, I will continue with what you suggested above. Will uninstal the Nvidia graphics driver now.

Even if the memory test was not bad, test one RAM stick at a time. I've seen systems pass memory tests but still crash until the RAM was replaced. Not often, but it happens.
