i spilt just a little water on my lptop and immediately turned it upside down so it cld go out and removed my battery. i spent the whole night and wen i tried to switch it on it won't boot but displays a cmos error and wen i press the f1 key nothing happens. i hv pressed f2 and it brings up a screeen with 5 icons which shld b hrd drv, cd, floppy, memory but does not respond after that.My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Pro. my hard drive is fine memory fine

I'm thinking that the water could have affected something with the CMOS battery or somewhere near there. You could try to change out the battery and see if that helps. If not, here are a few other things you can do:

If those are a no go, the water could have fried some vital circuits, which in this case means that the motherboard is probably shot.
