college student laptop

Hi guys, this is my first post here on tomshardware, so sorry if I mess anything up.

I am about to become a college student. I am looking for a cheap laptop with the following specs:

13" screen
long battery life (6 hours or more)
this laptop is mainly for taking notes in class so as long as it can work smoothly on office i should be fine.

available in the usa.

any suggestions?
