Anyone know of a website that tells how to take apart a Compaq 2701T?
Mine bit the dust. It is either the motherboard or the harddrive. This
makes the 3rd time for this same thing to happen and now it is out of
warranty and not worth the trouble to fix for me. So I would like to
take it apart and sell the usable parts on ebay or elsewhere. The
screen is still in great shape as well as other things.

Thanks,
Ken

I'd be interested in the parts.. IE: Bad motherboard.. What and how
much do you want? These are easy to disassemble.. Take all screws
out.. pop off power button panel.. Pull keyboard, Hinge covers, Hard
drive is above left optical drive 2 screws and it pulls out.. Screen
assy as well as hinges/cables/plastics all come off together..

I figured up what the potential would be for the parts sold individually
by checking completed sales on ebay and came to the following:

DVD Drive - $80
AD Adapter - $30
Batter - $60
Keyboard - $34
Floppy Drive - $10
Screen - $100-$200

So if I am going to sell the entire laptop to one person, I would need
to get $300 + shipping (actual charges from my house to yours.) That
might sound high, but I can part it out for probably quite a bit more.
This just saves you and me both the time and trouble.
