i was wondering if there is a tool that lets you compare e.g. 2 folders and that tells you the difference, its because i copied a lot of stuff over to a new folder and want make sure that they were all copied

i have used it but i have one question

i copied the files and folders from one external hdd to a new external hdd

winmerge tells me that all the files are copied, and when i check with properties they both have the same size (not same size on disk)

then i check how many files are in both hdd
the new hdd is apparently missing 4 files

also winmerge tels me i got 2 new jpg images in a folder with mp3 ("AlbumArtSmall.jpg" and "Folder.jpg") which i didn't have in my first hdd

how is this possible?
why are there less files in the new hdd, both have the same size?
and what are these to jpg's?

Best? Which interface do you like? Underneath, they all use pretty much the same file system calls.

As for your other question - Unknown as to why there are new files in the target that do no exist in the source. Possibly those were there before? I've not seen any file/folder compare application that will create new files or folders on its own.
