Comparison between two HP laptops

This laptop

is broken, and it had an A8-4500 CPU, and a 7640 GPU.

I am considering substituting it with this one

which has an i5 4210u CPU With the Stock HD 4400.

Both have same ammount of RAM, and disk storage. Would the i5 HP be a proper substitute for the former? Thanks for Your help, I really appreciate it! I searched the Forum, but found nothing conclusive

Proper Substitute ??? The i5 HP would be miles ahead of the AMD HP. Just go for it (the i5).

Thanks for the replies. If I were to compare an A8-6410 with a HD 8570M with said i5 4210U/HD 4400, how would the i5 do then? Every other specs are the same.

As a standalone graphics solution the HD 8570M is a slightly better solution compared to the HD 4400, however the A8 is miles behind the i5 especially in single thread performance. Therefore while in some games, where the GPU is stressed, and the CPU not so much, the AMD may be slightly ahead, however if the game is even slightly heavy on the CPU (eg Hitman), the i5 and HD4400 will perform way better than the AMD.
