Computer Freezing After Unlock

My computer keeps freezing whenever I unlock it, forcing me to have to do a hard reset. Any ideas to the cause of the problem and potential permanent solutions?

CPU: Intel i5 4670k (@ 4.2 GHz, w/adaptive V-core)
Mobo: ASUS Z87 Pro
RAM: Patriot Viper 3 Black Mamba (2x4GB @ 1600 MHz)
GPU: MSI GTX 760
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 128GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
PSU: Antec Truepower New 650w

Not sure if it was the source of the issue but I did a system restore to revert my PC to a state before I installed Samsung's new RAPID mode on my 840 Pro. Works fine now.
