Computer not booting up

Okay , so when I turn on my computer , it shows the dell sign and I can push F2 and F12 . But then , it goes to a black screen with a white dash at the top left corner . I don't know what to do please help .

Make yourself a hirens boot disk (or similar) so you have something to test with in the future. Off hand I would say your harddrive died.
