I've been looking for speakers for my PC for a while for nothing special, simply to have a nice, crisp quality sound. I have no knowledge speakers at all, so any input would be helpful. I have £70 to spend and I'm hoping to get a decent speaker(s).

Thanks for your help.

Go for Genius speakers good sound and also good value for your money. I owned them for almost 1 year no problems.

looking a few seconds at Amazon UK ... I am thinking these would be well worth considering..

Microlabs FC330

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microlabs-FC330-Model-System-Speaker/dp/B0040N3BQI

or solo6c

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microlabs-SOLO6c-System-Audio-Speaker/dp/B0047CTA1C/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1382211026&sr=8-3&keywords=microlabs

another good option can be used stereo gear (or new for that matter) bookshelf speakers + T-amp (and sub if desired /required)

I'm going to admit right up front this will be well past your stated budget ... but something like this would sound fantastic and if it was at all doable would (mho) be well worth the money even if you had to save up a bit (just don't borrow the money from any loan sharks or anything )

Cambridge S30
http://www.amazon.co.uk/CAMB-S-30-Cambridge-S30/dp/B00196SJOI

and say

Topping TP20MKII

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Topping-TP20-MK2-TA2020-Digital-Amplifier/dp/B005F5U86G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382211400&sr=8-1&keywords=topping+tp20

would be about 180 of your british pounds however.... but would blow the doors off any logitech stuff you could ever find...
