Computer wont connect with hdmi to tv

Hello, I bought a HP Pavilion dv5 with Windows7 last week. It has an HDMI input as well as my TV. I have been trying to connect my my TV isn't getting a signal. I have been on the phone with HP and they have had me uninstall and reinstall different things and nothing seems to work. Any help would be helpful.

I have the same computer and have been having the same problem. did you get it figured out? if not someone helpppppp! lol
