It could be used for deaf babies to put them to bed. Caus you can only sing a hearing child to sleep. Great for all parents of deaf children. 95% or so parents of deaf are hearing.

The problem is that not many people know sign language... but that's why they know how to read lips, but for this they need to look straight at you. With microphones it could also help them hear other sounds like a car or that somebody is screaming at them because of some emergency...

If they could understand anyone, not only folks who know hand language, it would be great.

Unfortunately I don't think that four vibrating elements can be used to understand whole spectrum of human language. It's fine fo 'bass line here, treble here, vrroooom vroooom', but nothing more sophisticated..

Amazing thing. Being deaf is hard enough as it is, so anything that helps these people should be applauded. However, wouldn't this mean that bass dominates immensely, as these generate the strongest feelings? Music with lots of high notes, from classical to pop, would sounds mutilated I'm afraid. Still, it's better than nothing.
