first of all i want a portable gaming laptop that i will use for most of its time for gaming , and my dad told me that its either to pick the alienware 15 r1 or the lenovo y50-70 gaming laptop
boh laptops are for gaming but the specs are different , but i am a bit confused about wish one should i get
the alienware 15 r1 specs are: core i5 4120h 2.9ghz , 8gb ram ddr3, gtx965m 2gb ddr5, 1tb hard drive
the lenovo y50-70 specs are : core i7 4720mq 2.6ghz , 16gb ram ddr3, gtx860m 4gb ddr5 , 1tb sshd
i dont care about how much does it cost !!! i just want the best specs for gaming !!!
and thanx in advance

gtx965m will give you 5 to 10fps more in game, but i7 4720mq will make up for that difference. Also you have 4gb vram with 860m and will handle better vram hungry games. And you have 16gb ram with lenovo

i agree with the i7 and the rams but i can upgrade the rams for 16gb , so the rams are no problem

does more vram effect gaming performance and add more fps cause i'm kinda noob at vrams options
but i saw the benchmarks and i saw that the i5 + gtx965m outperform the i7 + gtx860m in almost all games

and thank you for your fast reply

Outperforms? Not really... check if that lenovo gtx860m is maxwell or kepler architecture

You will get 5-10fps more with GTX965m like I said, but I see now that you even get an ssd with lenovo so I would go with lenovo imo

with asus rog you'd get GTX970m and i7 for the same price I think.. but you want only those 2 laptops :/

yes the gtx 860m 4gb is maxwell cause it reads GM not GK

the thing is that i dont do any video editing or graphics or any cpu intensive apps
my full use to the laptop is going to be hardcore gaming only !! so i really need more fps in any means necessary

Oh well then go for that alienware... If I were you I would spend my money on asus rog but suit yourself. You will get a bit more fps from GTX965m, depending on the game that you will play. Still you won't have steady 60fps with either of those laptops on high settings
