Confused on what type of screen potential laptop is

So recently I'm in the market for a new laptop. And i have almost pretty much settled upon the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 002 (Skylake model).

Whats making me stop from purchasing is the fact that I have yet to fine an honest answer on what screen type it is. From multiple video reveiws I've watched, its mentioned that is an IPS screen. But from all the website details I see its TN.

Now this is sort of an issue, as I am using this for gaming, but as well as Graphic Design work for my next semster of college classes.

So here are two or three links ill drop so you all can look. But if any one has straight forward answer and even a link to the model i need that would be greatly appriciated!

I would not lose too much sleep over TN vs IPS: TN has improved so much over the past 15 years that you may have trouble telling the difference at normal viewing angles. If you are concerned about color accuracy, getting an IPS panel is by no means a guarantee of remotely accurate colors either.

Your best option would be to go have a look at the different laptops in-store if possible. But even that is no guarantee that the laptop you will receive will have a display that performs exactly the same due to manufacturing variations.

The first gen GS60 had a really nice Samsung PLS (IPS-equivalent) screen. Very bright, uniform, with rich colors without the stupid glare you get with a glossy screen. I had it for a month, and I think it's the best laptop screen I've ever seen.

According to this GenTechPC unboxing, it's a LG040E panel (7m 16s), which a quick search says is an IPS screen. I haven't been impressed with LG IPS screens of late - the blacks turn grey when viewed from the side or especially the corners.

Edit: Since you ask for opinions on the laptop, I think it's a very good laptop. I returned it because battery life stank (about 2.5 hours), and because they'd swapped the left alt and windows key. I kept popping up the Windows start menu every time I tried to use an alt-key combination. I see they've addressed that in this newer model by moving the Windows key to the right of the spacebar, though that makes windows key combinations a bit trickier to use. And it was too big to fit into my laptop case designed for 15.6" laptops (they waste a lot of space on bezels).

So dont worry about it then? I mean i was thinking about going with the 4k version, but i heard scaling is tricky on that, plus gaming is still trying to get there.

And whats your opinoin on this laptop? Good pick?

Thanks man, I've heard that the battery life isn't great, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have plugged in most of the time anyway. Plus its gonna be used for video and image editing so its why I'm going with. Plus its thin size is a plus for my classes. Windows key placement isn't to much of a concern but I do see your point. Also, newer model? Do you have link of what your talking about? I'd like to check it out

Ah, so the one I'm considering to buy is the newest model I see.

So I guess this may be my last choice and bet to buy. It looks stable and well design. Plus hardware seems to be good for the next 2 or 3 years. Only concern for buying this was the screen, but if its actually pretty decent then I guess I have nothing to worry about taking the plunge right?
