Solved! Connect a subwoofer to PC MAudio speakers

Hi I have been trying to figure out how to get my subwoofer(Polk PSW10) to connect to my computer speakers/monitors(Maudio AV40).
I first hooked an RCA y split with 3.5mm Jack running from subwoofer to output Jack of my external sound card. Then both the AV40 computer speakers wire I connected to the output of the subwoofer.
Upon testing, I do hear the sub just fine, however I do not hear any audio from speakers. I dont understand much about audio setup so can someone help me out here?

I think you used the wrong splitter if it has one 3.5mm stereo plug and two RCA connectors.
You can split the 3.5mm stereo output of your source into 2 3.5mm stereo jacks.

The speakers connect to one stereo jack and the sub to the other. You will need two cables with 1 3.5mm stereo plug to 2 RCA plugs.
Of you can do the split either at the sub or the speakers with a pair of RCA splitters. Just a matter of what keeps the cables neat and short.

Okay, so that's the part where you lose me. The subwoofer I have only has one RCA port. What do you mean about the two cables with 1 3.5mm stereo plug to 2 RCA plugs? I'd love to provide photos but I dont know how.
