Connect laptop to desktop PC

Hello, I have a Toshiba laptop. Laptop boots properly but keyboard and mouse have stopped working. I urgently need to access some files on my laptop that I need for a presentation. How do I connect my laptop to my desktop so that I can use the laptop as an external hard drive?

Have you tried an external USB keyboard and mouse? The laptops hard drive could be removed and connected with a USB to SATA connector or connected to the inside the desktop. If you have ethernet ports on booth you could run a crossover cable (or switch and 2 ethernet cables) between the two, then manually set the IP address on both.
