Connect my laptop to TV.

Hello Everyone,

I want to use my laptop on my tv so that i can watch movies on bigger screen.Now the problem is that my laptop don't have any HDMI port.It has only a VGA port.And my tv also has a VGA port for Pc/Laptop. I bought a VGA to HDMI cable and tried to connect it like this VGA side on the laptop and HDMI on the TV HDMI port.But it didn't work at all.So,Is there any idea how can i use any converter or any other cable to use HDMI cable on my Laptop?

what good is that , vga only transports video. you'll also need a 3.5mm audio cable to transport the sound otherwise it will be silent

So my answer is connect your laptop with your TV with a VGA cable.
He said "I bought a VGA to HDMI cable and tried to connect it like this VGA side on the laptop and HDMI on the TV HDMI port.But it didn't work at all."
A cable from VGA to HDMI won't work because it's analog from the laptop to digital to the TV.
So what is your answer to his problem ?

I second the notion of using a VGA-VGA cable with whatever audio cable you need to make it work.

my answer to his problem is to buy a VGA cable and a 3.5mm audio cable. Yawn.
