Hi,currently I have my 5.1 speakers connected to my laptop and the laptop to tv via hdmi. But sometimes the speakers don't work while connected to laptop and I have to watch movies with my tv speakers.
So I think to buy the CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER X-FI SURROUND 5.1 PRO so that I connect the speakers to it and then the blaster to the laptop with usb and to my tv with an optical cable.
1)my speakers have 3 3.5mm jack for audio output but I lost two of them, does it matter if I connect only the one to the blaster or I lose sound quality?

2)is it possible to have connected the blaster to laptop and tv at the same time for example when I remove the usb from laptop I will be able to watch tv with my speakers.

Sorry about that. To answer your questions:

1. You shouldn't loose sound quality at all.

2. I don't see why not. That should certainly work.

Are you streaming audio and video from your laptop to the TV? Like using your TV as your laptop display? If so, the best option would be to run and RCA to 3.5mm cable from your laptops headphones out to the RCA input on your speakers and that should certainly work.

If you say you have your 5.1 speakers connected to your laptop and the laptop to your TV via HDMI but sometimes the speakers don't work while connected to your laptop, then do what I've described above if you haven't done so yet. If you have, and it still drops audio sometimes, check your playback devices under your sound options while your 5.1 speakers are connected and make sure the right playback device is set as the default.

Hope that helps!

Yes,I have the speakers connected to the laptop as I posted the picture above.
The laptop's 3.5mm jack is pretty cheap so I'd like to upgrade my sound experience with the blaster questions 1),2) still unanswered.
