Question Connect TV with no optical to soundbar with no HDMI.

Have a Samsung 550 series tv, which doesn't have optical, and a Bose solo tv speaker, which doesn't have HDMI. I've been using Bluetooth, but the audio/video are consistently out of sync now. I realize I probably should just buy a new tv, but I'm wondering if I can salvage the situation by getting an adaptor to connect the tv hdmi to the Bose optical. I tried an RCA (from tv) to Aux (Bose) connector, but no luck with that. Any help greatly appreciated.

Something like this that will take the HDMI with ARC (like a soundbar) and send it to optical. Do your own research, I just randomly picked a good looking search result and haven't used this item, but it seems to have many config options.
