Solved! Connected but no internet on TV

Currently my home internet is broken
I want to know if I can tether my phone to my TV and use my 4G network?
I’ve managed to get my phone connected to the Sony TV but it says connected no internet

I’ve tried resetting the network on phone and of course restarting all devices

just wondering if it will work or do I need my phone to be on wifi for it to work (which I can’t do as I have no wifi due to no home internet)

Tether, probably not, but you should be able to setup a hotspot on the phone and connect the TV to that hotspot. You should not need WiFi from the home router, the phone will make it's own WiFi signal for the TV to connect to.
