Hey guys,
I just want to to check if I'm wiring my loudspeakers right. I bought the Q acoustics 2020i, so firstly do you think there's an audible difference between bi-wiring and just standard wiring? And my main question, how do I connect the speakers to my amplifier? The manual asks me to:
"split the cable to a depth of about 40mm. Bare the wire to a depth of 10mm and twist the ends to gather any stray wires. Crop the cable leaving 7mm of bare wire exposed.
"Unscrew the terminal anticlockwise to expose the mounting hole in the base of the terminal column. Insert the bare end of the cable into the hole. Re-tighten the terminal fully hand tight. Make sure there are no stray wires which could touch adjacent terminals."

Which holes do I connect each cable/wire to, and in most videos they use what looks like banana cables, are they necessary?

Amplifier: Lepy-LP2024A
Speakers: Q acoustics 2020i
Cables: 25m Quality 18AWG Loud Speaker Cable - Multi-Strand by electrosmart®

Thanks ^^

Bi-wiring is if you have a speaker cabinet(Speaker box) with a high frequency tweeter and low frequency driver with separate wiring with their own transistor to filter. ie, If the tweeter didn't have a high frequency transistor, the low frequency range would blow it. Bi-wiring will only be useful in your case if you actually built the speaker and know whats in side it. All commercial speakers are wired parallel with transistor filters inside to filter each range according to the driver.

Banana plugs are only designed for convenience, there's no real benefit unless you're plugging/unplugging frequently.

As for AVR terminal wiring and tension, just do finger tight, just enough so the wire doesn't pull out easily and the speaker wire needs to match the speaker end, positive to positive, negative to negative. Usually the full color wire is positive and the striped is negative but it doesn't matter, long as the wire connected at both ends is the same, between AVR and speaker.

Hey boju, thx for the help. The cable is like two cables stuck together, one with a red stripe running down it and the other completely clear, do I separate the two for standard wiring? And if I don't separate them, then do I just twist the two together after I've stripped them? And what do you mean it doesn't matter, I'm kinda new to this stuff so no technical terminology please ;-;

Oh sorry was late lastnight and didn't realise your speakers have 4 terminals and not only two which i thought i saw. They are bi-wireable. Use the standard wiring method in the manual.

Its not really worth bi-wiring, wont notice a great deal. The idea of bi-wiring is having two different amps for each speaker in the speaker box for treble and bass. But will need to remove the crossover piece connecting each post terminal shown in the manual.

Just wire the two top terminals red and black and leave the bottom two.
